websites update

I vaguely remember that I once had the time to update my website on a regular base. That must be.... three years ago? Much to my own dismay, I haven't had time to work on my websites or even do basic stuff on them. I did a quick sweep to clean things up and make it more manageble....
1. allesoverbuikdansen.nl
This is my Dutch shira.com site, containing over 200 articles on various belly dance subjects. It was hacked about year ago and remained inactive ever since. I do not have the energy to upgrade the Joomla! CMS and recover the database, so I ended the lease onthe domain name + the service package. The site will be gne in august this year.
2. domainname kyriascloset.com
I hung on to my domainname because it was the first website that I made in 2001 and I had a lot of fun posting my crafting updates and bellydance articles between 2001-2009. The labels that I sew in my clothes also say 'Kyria's Closet'. I now feel that the purpose of this website has been overtaken by livejournal and facebook and I feel less attached to keeping the actual domain name. It will be free for other users in january 2014.
3. wordpress.senseofbellydance.com
our troupe website, that I hadn't updated for two years because I forgot my username... Guess what, I found it again! I updated our class schedule and performance dates and shared the link on facebook. That's as far as I am willing to go without the support or help of my fellow dancers.
4.rondombuikdans.nl
We bought the domainname in 2011 for ouor one time event, the one I hosted with Arya. Ah, good times! I will keep it for a while longer, maybe ask Arya this year if she has interest in doing a theater project together. Chances are that we want a different name for our event, meaning I will let the old one go.
5.buikdansereskyria.com
Yep, my official promotional site. I feel a bit torn on the belly dance front, about what to do next. I like the theater projects, I like teaching my weekly students, I like performing every once in a while, but overall I am a bit tired of the belly dance scene in general. I don't want to be an international star, I don't want to start my own teaching format (or would I?). I would like to create an extracurricular Master on Oriental Dance and a unified method for teaching belly dance in Europe (me ambitious? why would you think that?). Overall, I see a decline in the amount of students, the amount of qualified teachers and gifted performers in our local community. It makes me sad. What is the use of creating a training program in a dance form that is slowely dying? I believe we have to bond together with other wolrd dance forms to create better dancers and a strong cultural sense of where this dance form is coming from.
I digress. I removed obvious old stuff from my website, and I have ideas of improving the current one with new material. For starters, I would like to do a video project with my students to create a 3 minute youtube movie about my advanced classes. I bought a new HD camera and recorded my performance from last Sunday (which was a disaster, but good enough to use anyway). I need fresh material to keep people interested and it has to be HD/widescreen so people know that I am still alive and kicking. Will work on that in the next six months, and I had a plan to create PDF flyers with general information about my belly dance classes and the bachelorette workshops. I added new pictures, edited text and changed the times of my classes.
Like I said, I am not sure if I am still alive and kicking on the dance front, despite my weekly classes, the theater projects, the hafla's I am participating in, FaKyMa and Sense of Bellydance.
