Black Friday

Black Friday has reached the Netherlands as well ,even though there is no reason at all why we would have an extra sale moment. It seems like there's always a sale going on at any moment during the year. I took a look at the various offerings, and I bought nothing. Seems like the minimalism is rubbing off!

Speaking of minimalsism, I already sold my darbukka because I am replacing it with a new and better one. However, the new one is in transit from Egypt, stuck on sea on a big ship. Our big darbuka workshop (That I think we overpaid for) is this Sunday! I borrowed a Djembé from Sara and that'll just have to do. It's still better compared to my old darbuka, as it sounded awful and din't feel right.

I have a new batch of stuff that I want to give away and I'll get right on it this week. Everyone who visited us during the weekend commented how much lighter and bigger our house looks after the remodelling. Yes, it is bigger but it also contains less stuff! I love our livingroom now, it feels more open and we have a splash of color with the new IKEA rug. The clutter battle continues but it feels like we're on top of things. I am ignoring the mess upstairs and in the attic for the moment.

Black Friday is here now too. Completely unrelated to anything actually local. I did succumb - Briscoes (which is famous for ALWAYS having a sale of some kind) had 70 percent off nearly everything in store, so I bought a new bed cover and some cushions - oh and a new toilet brush because my old one is in a horrific state. It's not easy to get replacement heads! You pretty much have to buy a new set which is crappy to say the least.

My house continues to look like an episode of Hoarders at present but slowly I'm getting there!!
