the big dance weekend, it's here!
Jun. 21st, 2012 10:52 amTomorrow I'll travel to Groningen for a theater show with the full length performance of Alf leyla we layla. It's a three hour trip to get there so I expect to be exhausted.
Saturday I'm performing in a student recital in Utrecht. My beginners bailed on me: I have decided that I will not ever again organize anything for my beginners regarding performing in an official student recital. I even consider quitting teaching all together, as I don't have the energy I need to funnel into preparing classes. A decision that I will make in the summer of 2013 based on how my job evolves.
Saturday night: a private performance in Nieuwegein, close to Utrecht. Once more, I will be exhausted.
Sunday: second show with the Oum Kolthoum project in Utrecht. Close to home and I have to be there around 12-ish, so time to sleep. I am so tired, emotionally and physically. I took Monday off work so I can go to the ortho, prepare my last bellydance classes of this season, and sleep some more. Though it looks like I'll have to do some work from home too.
I'm excited that the next couple of days are filled with dance, and I'm sad that I feel like it's an extra workload and I can't fully enjoy it because I'm exhausted. I will have to change things to make this work and I will rework my strategy during the summer. You can't have it all.
