mekyriaFinished! I handstitched the hook and eye closures in place, added the ruffles to the bottom, cut, tipped and placed the boning and then stood back to admire my work. Baby's got back!
plaats hier de inhoud van de cut.The original pattern has 6 ruffles. I lengthend the bustle by 2 inches/5 cm, so I had to add another ruffle to hide the hem. If I had thought about this before, I would have made the ruffle 2 inch/5 cm longer. I used metal boning and cut them to size with the kind of pliers that you use for DIY work around the house. Then filed the edges to remove sharp points. I tipped them by putting hansaplast/leukoplast over the edges.
I've tried the fantail skirt + polonaise on top of the bustle, and the result is magnificent. It's also easy to sit down with this type of bustle, it suprised me how light it is compared to the size.
