Warm fuzzy weekend

Life has been good in these past couple of days. Warm fuzzy feelings shared with Mr.R, for example when we huddled up on the couch and I read some highlights from the book ‘Geese, eating the whole thing’ while running my fingers through his hair. I am now capable of discerning different types of geese and judge based on their feathers and bone structure if they are young or old. I mentioned that Mr.R. wants to start hunting, right? I have no interest in hunting but no objection to it either, the people I met that are hunters are all very concerned with nature, keeping the balance and killing animals with a minimum of pain. Eating chickens bred in the bio industry causes more harm to animals than hunting does. Walking around in The Hague on Saturday, the classic music festival was a bit of a downer because it was raining and cold. The sax quartet was pretty good and braved the weather, they played three extensive pieces that were very well played..
I left on Saturday after dinner so I had time to practice and pack my bag for Sunday, which I ofcourse didn’t because I had to lie down on the couch, watch ‘Limitless’ and eat ALL THE CHOCOLATES. Though the movie was good the ending was kind of weird.
Sunday was the annual recital of Roos, my dearly beloved fellow dance teacher from Bussum. She is absolutely adorable and a total sweetheart, very creative with group choreography. I did a spanish-arabic fusion to Ya ghanilek, not my best work so far but for a first time outing not bad. I felt slightly guilty for not wearing red and black, but I really like the layered look of the chiffon skirts and the red/black costume that I could throw together wouldn’t cut it anyway. It was lovely to hang out with the girls in the dressing room, swap stories, do make-up and talk. It makes me realize that there are very few situations that I feel at ease and free to express my opinion and being surrounded by dancers is one of the things that make me very, very happy. One of the things I notice is that in groups with men and women, it is a natural process for women to hold their tongue, not be abrasive, smile a lot. Men are more prominent and outspoken when they are around women, there is an element of trying to impress the other sex that makes everything kind of exhausting. No wonder that men and women enjoy hanging out with just the boys/girls. No wonder that we like hanging out with the opposite sex either. I digress.
I managed to tape my performance, no time to edit though. My performance starts after app. seven minutes. The first song is the beginners (they are cute!), and the last song is a performance whith the dancers wearing glow in the dark rings, a cool idea that doesn't caputure well on video unfortunately. Roos is the one wearing the blue wings.
