Rainbow

Arya offered me a ride to the rehearsal of Nargis's studentshow this weekend. It's on a Sunday afternoon in Fijnaart, a small village somewhere on the border of Zeeland and Noord-Braband. Her two students and me gathered on a gloomy afternoon in Utrecht, ready for our big adventure. And a big adventure it was, as we got caught in a storm with rain and hail. The rain as so dense that we couldn't see more then 10 ft/3 m ahead, very scary if you're on a highway going 70 kmph. nce we got through the storm, we found the exit and were rewarded with the most beautiul rainbow I have ever seen. Rainbows rarely are perfect like the ones in children's books, and don't get me started on the whole misguided preconeption of pots of gold tht are supposedly waiting for you on the other end. This rainbow was magnificent and spanned between the highway and the theatre where were headed. 

I expected My Little Pony's to flutter down and hand us strawberry shortcake, and prancing unicorns and glitter everywhere. Rainbows are nature's way of showing how amazing this world that we live in can be. I was stunned and in awe of it's bright clors, transparant quality (photoshoppers: it looked like a 70% transparant layer with feathered edges).  The pony's and unicorns didn't show, but as we were going into a belly dance show rehearsal, we did get a lot of glitter! The lights are different from what I've worked with before, and there is a smoke machine. I hope that I can show you guys video/photos of the real show this Sunday.
