Being productive
Sep. 18th, 2011 09:47 pmThis was a lazy Sunday I've been longing for for months. The Oum Kolthoum rehearsals and other social stuff are taking their toll, and by now I"m counting down to October because then I will have weekends that are not fully booked (yet....). Oum Kolthoum's big date is next weekend, when we we show the full 42 minutes of Alf Lila we Lila with eight dancers. We're in the same show as Aziza and we hope we will measure up :)
I woke up around nine and decided to wake up slowely, watched a couple of IT crowd episodes (season three). I also photographed soem stuff that I want out of my house so I can put it on a website for people who want free stuff. Among the things that have to go is an item I received as a gift from the mother of my ex-boyfriend when I was 18. I've held onto the ugly thing for way too long!
When I looked outside around 11.30 I wanted top go out for a run, this time I did one and a half lap, so somewhere aorund 6-7 km. It was great, though I noticed that it was getting a bit too cold for my summer running clothes. I'll have to change into my winter pants soon. I really need to go out and feel the sun, wind and rain on my skin at least once a week so I'm doing my best to keep it up.
I got back and started replying to the emails from people for free stuff. I had two people pick up items today and I'll have two more tomorrow, and then I'll have another square meter cleared the dining room. Cookiehunter is moving his stuff in the first weekend of October and I'm really excited about it. That weekend I can finally put the diningroom table out again and use my sewing machine! Yay!
I ran into my pregnant neighbor and I went to her place for a cup of tea, then back to my own house so I could put the curtain up in the computer corner. The Arabic men sitting outside the café on the other side of the street had a great time watching me go up and down the ladder so I gave them a little wave. I felt accomplished enough to get into a comfy chair and watch Dirty Dancing and the last auditions for the Dutch So you think you can dance. I'm amazed at how many awesome performances I've seen in the past hour or so. The only downer was that someone did a bellydance performance that sucked on many levels, and then started making excuses for herswelf. Bahara, don't do this to our beloved dance form! And I was relieved you wore bikershorts underneath your hipscarf, but two hipsacrfs do not make an appropriate outfit!
I feel ready to take on the worl, which I will do first thing tomorrow. This week will be crazy madness with extra Oum Kolthoum rehearsals, a meeting with Mandi Aziza Williams on Thursday, and the Asli Sharqi workshops next weekend.
