This week we did several excercises around backbends during poweryoga. After three weeks I feel the difference in my shoulders/arms, though they still need a lot of work. I even got myself into the wheel pose with the help of the teacher. Haven't done that one for 5 years or so. I used to do that one for fun every now and then. I didn't realise how much strength and flexibility you need for this pose.
Feeling the results also in other ways: my leg muscles are more flexible and my back is getting stronger. I felt one vertabrae 'slide' and 'pop' a couple of times in december/january, it seems that my back is more stable now.
