Dutch dreary weather

The good news is that I woke up this morning and I could see the sky which was cloudy but not raining. I've been wanting to run outisde for weeks now but it never happened, so I decided right there and then that it was a good time. In fact, I was so inspired that I doubled my running time, running two big laps along the canal instead of one. The total adds up to about 9 or 10k, the longest I've been running so far. My body told me afterwards that yes, it was fun, but oh dear lord I will have to pay for it with muscle ache tomorrow. My body also gave me friendly reminder that last Wednesday I overstepped my boundaries too: playing an hour of badminton in my lunchbreak and doing a free try out lesson of ballet maxed out my muscles. My butt ached for two days afterwards, which would have been funny if I didn't have to walk around so much. Climbing stairs was hell.
The badminton is probably a weekly thing: it's a free hour of sport with coworkers from all over the organisation on Wednesday afternoon and it is far more fun then I thought it would be. I lack strategic insight or any knowledge at all about badminton, but I make up for it in speed, endurance, flexibility and reflexes. Tomorrow I'll teach two free taster bellydance classes for the university and I hope people will sign up for my classes soon. Last year my classes were full at this time of the year, but it seems the university is hit by the credit crunch too :-(
Overall I'm planning my physical program for the next couple of months. The Oum Kolthoum project is still running, adding 6 hours of bellydance on Saturday. It also gives me a (poor) excuse to not Shred for 30 days in a row.
Monday: teach 3 BD classes, for a total of 3 hours 45 minutes
Tuesday; ballet! 1 hour 15 minutes
Wednesday: Badminton +/- 1 hour
Thursday: 45 minutes cross-trainer. By now I have amazing stamina
Friday: probably a BD dvd if I don't have any social stuff going on. Wah, who am I kidding: I rather go out for dinner and drinks
Saturday: Oum Kolthoum project, bd for 6 hours
Sunday: If I feel the need, run in the open air for an hour or so, or use my crosstrainer for 45 minutes.
We haven't seen the sun long enough to remember what it looks like this summer, and it seems the fall downpour is already upon us. Thunder and lightning are fighting over airtime and I feel sad about the summer that never was.
