As it is my holiday, I am doing dancer chores. You know, the stuff I know I SHOULD be doing when we rather watch youtube clips of Randa. Like preparing for my classes, rehearsing my solo, diving into my administration or working on my tax report. As it turns out, it is pretty relaxed to have a couple of days off to work on a choreography.
After I finished my Iraqi inspired oriental choreo I felt so great about doing so, I signed up for the open stage of the From Cairo with Love festival. Because I am crazy like that. At least it gives me something substantial to work towards as a personal goal, rather than a class goal.Yeah. What type of costume goes with Iraqi inspired oriental? I haven't the faintest clue. The long dresses that the Russian dancers wear look good, except that I am more podgy in the middle and I don't want to make/buy something new.

Any ideas?
As a second dancer chore, I am cleaning up my iTunes library. To do so, I bought an app called TuneUp that can go through up to 500 songs and adds the metadata and cover art. It is staring me in the face when it comes to those tracks I imported from cds I bought in Egypt but otherwise it is working great. The sad thing is that my library contains roughly 20.000 songs and 11.000 of them lack some kind of info.I expect to run this program in the next week or so with 500 song cycles untill I have covered most ground. Yay me! Rumour has it that once you cleaned up your metadata, iTunes will run infinite faster and serve you cups of hot cocao while you're waiting for your search results. Or something.
Thirdly, I am finally figuring out this facebook pages thing. And I am getting to grip with people actually wanting to see new content written by me every now and then, meaning that I feel the urge to write a couple of blog posts. I am going to post more stuff on my Dancer page because I want to connect with the current bellydance scene. I feel like I've been out for a couple of years, due to work, relationships and other life events, and I want to get back in.
