The writing bug
Jun. 17th, 2015 12:10 pmI am bitten by the writing bug (again). Prompted by my four week break from my costuming blog, I decided to get back on the horse and write new costuming posts.
After that I send out a newsletter (yay!).
I then started planning my blogs for the next three months, and noticed Andalee's call for action for bellydance at any size. So I wrote an article for her first. It turned out quite nice, it's a personal story about my changing perception of bodysize in relation to bellydance. I like to write more of that type of stories.
And then I noticed how awesome my students look in the outfits I made for the student recital, and I thought 'wouldn't it be awesome to creat a pdf pattern that I can sell online?'. It's a top that can easily be made by beginners, with sleeves that don't need to be added seperately, it looks really cute.
Sure, digitizing the pattenr, making it ready for multi-size, writing the instructions, testing the pattern and actually publishing it is a hell of a lot of work. But it would be a product that 1. would actually sell, 2. can be sold for years and year and 3. once it's done, it's done. Have to ponder on this one some more.
Do you think there's a market for digital patterns for bellydance clothes? meaning you pay 7-8$, download the pdf, print and tape the pieces together and you're ready to go.
